Logo for Abertillery Learning Community
Representatives from the existing school councils came together on 11th May to design a logo for the new Learning Community. The councillors all agreed that the logo for the new learning community should represent:
-
linking together
-
equality
-
sharing
-
joined up thinking
-
learning as a continuous journey
-
the interconnectivity of the Learning Community
The learners have decided on the logo for the Learning Community and option 1 came out as the clear favourite.
UNIFORM
The representatives from the school councils voted unanimously that they keep their existing school uniform colours. The councillors felt very strongly that the logo should be the unifying feature.
Councillors from Bryngwyn and Queen Street want to move towards wearing the same colour as they move into their new building in 2017 (hopefully after the October half term). The pupils want to decide together on what their uniform colour should be but there was strong feeling that it shouldn’t be purple!
As from September 2016 pupils must wear the their current school uniform.
