ACCESSIBILITY STATEMENT FOR ABERTILLERY LEARNING COMMUNITY

This accessibility statement applies to https://www.abertillery3-16.co.uk

Abertillery Learning Community is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.

Compliance status

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2 AA standard, due to the non‑compliances and exemptions listed below.

Non‑accessible content

The content listed below is not fully accessible for the following reasons.

Non‑compliance with the accessibility regulations

  • Some documents (such as PDFs or Word files) published before 23 September 2018 may not be fully accessible, for example:

    • missing text alternatives

    • poor colour contrast

    • lack of document structure

  • Some images may not have appropriate alternative text.

  • Some interactive elements may not be fully usable with keyboard navigation alone.

We are working to identify and address these issues as part of our ongoing accessibility improvements.

Disproportionate burden

We do not currently claim any content as exempt due to disproportionate burden.

Content that is exempt from the regulations

  • Live video streams do not have captions. Live video is exempt from meeting the accessibility regulations.

Accessibility features

This website includes an accessibility toolbar that allows users to personalise their browsing experience. Features include:

  • screen reader support

  • keyboard navigation

  • text‑to‑speech tools

  • contrast and colour adjustments

  • text size, spacing and font changes

  • link, heading and content highlighting

  • animation controls

  • reading aids (reading masks and guides)

These tools are provided to support accessibility but do not replace the need for native website accessibility. We continue to improve the underlying structure and content of the site.
